About this place
The question
does two jobs.
What are we doing here? can mean what is on the workbench today. It can also mean why any of it is worth doing.
I’m Dan. I work with data and software, build and repair things, study scripture, and keep finding that the practical question eventually becomes a philosophical one.
This is a working notebook.
The writing here is allowed to show its seams. Projects can be unfinished. Conclusions can be revised. Bible-study notes represent a developing understanding rather than formal teaching.
The common thread is attention: to the data, to the material in front of me, to the text, and to the assumptions hiding inside the work.
Why publish it?
Because private adaptation becomes more useful when it becomes a map someone else can follow. Teaching is part of the craft—not an activity that begins after the real work is done.
